Unknown and improvised structures interrupt predictable patterns. Made in response to another tumultuous event from 2001, it’s again time to ruminate on how our collective humanity can overcome great challenge.

Things we can do right now? SOLOS. Three JSB dancers will present solos made in collaboration with James, and share a bit about the context, process, and inspiration behind each. We are joined by videographer V Paul Virtucio, to infuse a little more three-dimensionality to the program and to bring our home studio home to you!

February 12th features Jarod Boltjes, Ashley Chin-Mark, and Arimee Gambill. Submit your questions or feedback below for us to respond to live!

JSB’s Annual Valentine’s Gala has been a celebrated occasion to gather guests and artists for a boutique event. Always a memorable night for its dance performance, dinner, and new friends made, JSB is unable to maintain the tradition in 2021. A festive party with a purpose, Romance Dance consistently generates 10% of the company’s operating budget revenue, a significant source to keep us creating, dancing, teaching and mentoring.

While we are delighted to share this with all of you who would have been with us on February 14, we also welcome and hope for your continued generosity to support JSB’s artists and the many operational needs, programs and performances that are being fulfilled virtually until we can be with you again. Will you be our valentine?
