Twin Cities: Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota

James Sewell Ballet performs in the Twin Cities every fall and spring. Each fall and spring series includes evening and matinee performances, including First Chance Dance, a 50-minute performance for first-time audiences of all ages.

Over the years, performances have been presented at The O'Shaughnessy, located on the campus of The College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, at the State Theatre in downtown Minneapolis, and on the McGuire Proscenium Stage at the Guthrie, also in Minneapolis.

Rochester, Minnesota

James Sewell Ballet has performed in Minnesota’s third largest city every March since 1999. The Mayo Civic Center is located on the Zumbro River in downtown Rochester and connected via skyways to parking ramps, hotels, the Mayo Clinic, and other businesses.

Holiday: “Amahl and the Night Visitors”

James Sewell Ballet’s year-end holiday production has played a number of Twin Cities venues: Ted Mann Concert Hall, 1996-1997; Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, 1998-2000; The O’Shaughnessy, 2001, 2003, 2007; Orchestra Hall, 2002, 2004; State Theatre, 2005; and Ritz Theater, 2006. On occasion, the production has been presented in partnership with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra (1996-2000), Minnesota Orchestra (2002, 2004), and North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (2002).

Central Minnesota: St. Cloud/St. Joseph

The city of St. Cloud anchors Minnesota’s central region near the confluence of the Sauk and Mississippi Rivers. James Sewell Ballet performed annually at the Paramount Theatre in downtown St. Cloud from 2001 through 2004. In 2007, the company performed at Petters Auditorium, Benedicta Arts Center, on the campus of the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph. The company has no present plans to perform in the area.
