CHRIS HANNON
(Dancer, 7th season) Beginning his 21st year as a professional dancer, Chris has
performed soloist and principal roles with Ballet Austin, Ballet Florida, Ballet British
Columbia, Alberta Ballet, Kokoro Dance in Vancouver BC, and Gina Patterson's
Voice Dance in Austin Texas. He trained at the Houston Ballet Academy while
studying classical and jazz guitar at the High School for Performing and Visual Arts.
Chris later completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Texas in Austin. Chris’
many title role credits include Septime Webre’s “Peter Pan,” Stephen Mills’
“Hamlet,” Dominique Dumais’ “Petroushka,” and the Champion Roper in Agnes
DeMille’s “Rodeo.” He has performed in Scotland, France, Cypress, and
throughout Canada. In 2002, Chris danced the role of Puck in “A Midsummer
Nights Dream” at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Other featured rolls
include Mercutio in “Romeo and Juliet,” the Court Jester from “Swan Lake,” and the
Gypsy Chief from “Don Quixote.” Chris was named best male dancer by the Austin
Critics Poll and the Austin Theater Critics Table in 1999 and again in 2002. Recently, Chris has performed as a guest artist with the Sandra
Organ Dance Company, Jane Wiener's Hope Stone, and the Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, all in Houston Texas.
