TONY CAPARELLI TonyCaparelli@jsballet.org Executive Director, 1st season.
Tony joined James Sewell Ballet in February 2008, after spending the last five years as executive director of the Oakland Ballet in California. Over the course of his career, Tony has been involved with many notable organizations and artists, serving in such capacities as general manager of the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, as lighting designer for music legend Van Morrison, and as production manager for the University of St. Thomas, USVI. Along with his many accomplishments, he has acquired specialized expertise in visual design, strategic planning, and civic leadership. Additional achievements include the establishment of an international film and video festival, service as arts commissioner for two major Californian cities, and multiple published articles.
MARY JO PELOQUIN maryjo@jsballet.org Operations Manager, 7th season. This Minnesota native graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a BFA degree in dance. She served for seven years in the Operations Resource Group of Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis before joining James Sewell Ballet. She also was operations manager for
Zenon Dance Company & School, and has served on its board of directors. Mary Jo has stage managed for several dance and theater performances in the Twin Cities, including
Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre, Theatre in the Round, and Lagniappe Theater. She believes that dance is essential to all life and feels blessed to be working in the field.
TOM McNAMEE tom@jsballet.org Development Director, 7th season. Tom attended the University of Minnesota and received a BA degree in sociology from the University of California, Irvine. He worked in the real estate business in Laguna Beach before returning to his native Minnesota. Prior to joining James Sewell Ballet, Tom worked with the C. G. Rein Gallery and later served as associate director of major corporate and foundation giving at the Minnesota Orchestra.
